Nice bit of co-op footage from caper ‘em-up Monaco with narration from the developers.
Always great to see this type of description about how the gameplay works - and I won’t lie, it’s bumping my anticipation for it just that bit further too :)

Rad tribute to Space Quest III - showing the vector approach that was used to draw up some of the rooms from the game.
It’s quite interesting seeing them come out this way - as the various PC’s I played it on over the years were more than fast enough to render each scene in the blink of an eye.
Splitting up a game with IAP toll points strikes me as being a completely different exercise – basically creating a structure deliberately designed to halt the player’s smooth progress through the game so as to stick out the begging bowl again and again.
Ever so wise words from gaming legend Jeff Minter over the trend towards excessive In-App Purchases in iOS gaming these days.(Source: s349909351.websitehome.co.uk)
Great little read over the background to the development of what’s considered to be the first coin-operated arcade video game…
I have to admit, this crazy insane trailer for the iOS game Time Ducks is totally the best way I can think of for a small game to be noticed.
Definitely one to watch and be bewildered by. ;p

Ancient DOS Games is actually a rather entertaining little web series about various old PC games (obviously), giving a bit of retrospective on them, along with getting them running optimally under the DOSBox environment.
I’m definitely finding it quite a good watch so far - just for the variety of games being shown, but that’s me in an odd way… ;)
For some strange reason, I utterly love the sound-effects from the early Atari machines (both the 2600 & the 8-bit computer line).
This game Canyon Climber just happens to show exactly what I mean - like that jump sound effect. Apocalyptic!
I’m not sure why I’m posting a video - but to be honest, I’m throwing this up ‘cause it’s a damn rad game regardless.
Forget-Me-Not (one of my personal favourite iOS games to come out this year), has just happened to get a Windows PC/Mac port. A free port.
Watch the vid, and go & download it. Otherwise you’re not into fun :)
(Then, if you’ve got an iOS device, go to the App Store & buy the iOS version if you haven’t already. Rad games like this deserve support if you ask me!)

I’ve not had a chance to try this (though, I’m very tempted to preorder & try the beta), but Infected Planet looks like one of those quick fix strategy games which is just perfect for a quick play.
