Secret of Monkey Island: Extended & Deleted Scenes
A cool little read detailing some of the pieces of dialogue which were left out of the original Secret of Monkey Island, and only discovered during the process of creating the remake Special Edition rather recently.
Even if they don’t actually fit into the game properly, there’s still some of the game’s classic humour in there, making it well worth checking out!

Awesome 5x3 pixel recreations of many old (and not so old) games created by animation team Alaskan Military School for the launch of GameCity Squared over in the UK.
How many could you pick?

The Making of Hostile Waters
Sweet (if a tad old) article by RPS with some snippets from the developers of the horribly underrated Hostile Waters.
…if only they got the Multiplayer Patch out :)

Death Rally for Windows
In a rather nice fit of generosity, Remedy (best known for Max Payne & the upcoming Alan Wake) have gone back into the archives and re-released their old 1996 action-racer Death Rally for free!
Not just that, they’ve gone and ported it over to Windows - meaning you can run it on your shiny modern PC without having to worry about setting up DOSBox or the likes.
Damned nice of them to put the effort in for this :)

Two Years of Fez (aka Two Years of Fail)
An awesome blog post by the developers of Fez showing a bunch of shots across the life of the project - from early stages of development until more recent builds.
Quite interesting to watch an awesome project develop over time :)

Invade-a-load!
One of the more obscure memories from the days of loading games from audio tapes.
Invade-a-load was a customised tape loader for the C64 which allowed the patient (hehe) gamer to enjoy a brief spurt of a Space Invaders clone whilst they waited for their preferred game to load from tape.
Whilst similar things made an appearing in the early CD-console era, it seems to have gone dormant again… but then again, when you’ve got HD installs for both Xbox 360 & PS3 titles… maybe it needs to come back from the grave again ;)
